I am beyond excited to represent my state, the Empire State, as Miss Earth New York 2010! This summer, I will join green and glamorous women from all over the country to compete for the Miss Earth United States title in Laughlin, Nevada. The winner will go on to the Miss Earth pageant this November in Vietnam.
As I begin to make appearances, I’ll be keeping you updated with pictures and other stuff here on my blog, as well as lots of tweets on my Twitter page (so follow me on Twitter LOL). It’s going to be a busy next few months, as I am also prepping the launch of the new season of my environmental awareness program The Melissa Cole Show.
I am looking to make lots of appearances and do lots of volunteer work this year (email missearthnewyork2010@gmail.com for booking). My platform is Meatless Monday. I am a vegan (a stricter version of a vegetarian) and I believe that reducing our reliance on the meat and dairy industry is the best thing we can do to reverse climate change, and Meatless Monday is a great start. I made a permanent decision to live a life in line with the planet when I became a vegan, and as an Aquarius rising, I have a fiery desire to share my inspiration and light with the world!
